Yesterday, I attended my mothers 65th birthday party. A couple dozen of her friends, neighbors, and family surprised her with a gathering.
On the way home on the highway, my Road King sputtered and died while decelerating before a turn. I managed to complete the turn and pull over, then performing some roadside diagnostics. Unfortunately, I could not resurrect the beast and had to call a tow to the local independent. Troubleshooting is ongoing.
Although obviously disappointed with the problem with my Harley and anxious to hear the shop results, I learned the toddler son of one of my friends had a leukemia relapse and has one to two weeks to live. That really put my relatively minor mechanical problems into life perspective.
+1 on that. Whenever I hear someone whining on about how bad they got it. I tell them they need to head down to the local hospital and check out the cancer ward. Or Childrens Mercy Hospital and see what all they have to deal with.
There was a saying and I don't remember who said it. Something like ..I used to complain about no shoes, then one day I met a man with no feet.
Be grateful for what you have in life.. you usually don't have to look very far to find someone who would love to be in your position.
