German style helmets

Got one of the DOT-Approved "OUTLAW" brand helmets from LeatherUp.com (the same that a lot of websites sell for ~$30.
DO NOT BUY the "Outlaw" brand helmet - they don't look like they do in the pic.
The padding comes down about an inch outside the helmet causing the helmet to sit on top of your head and look completely retarded.
I liked the look and style of the helmet, but they don't fit like the Novelty helmets at all. Don't come anywhere close to covering the ears, they sit on top of your head and don't seem like they'd even help in a crash (yes, i did order the correct size, the fit and finish of the helmet is just crappy).
I guess you get what you pay for with a $30 helmet.
ANYONE KNOW OF A DOT "German-style" helmet that actually looks good and sits down normally on your head..???
