Had a great time this past weekend going to Rolling Thunder and doing the ride to the wall. A solemn and fun day packed with a lot of sights and a lot of emotions. I took some video and a lot of pictures.
Just wanted to share the experience, and I hadn't seen a thread about it yet.
Was there too and had a great time. The Marine behind the Lincoln memorial and the POW in the bamboo cage always get a response from me. Went to patriot HD this year and had a good time there as well as HD of Washington (formerly Ft. Washington HD). Lots of nice bike and a respectful crowd. We stayed in Oxon Hill Md and the crowd at the hotel was maybe 10% of last years. Maybe they got new hotels but the crowd seemed slim to me.
I was at Patriot HD on Saturday, and was going to do their "Ride of the Patriots" to the Pentagon staging area. Instead, I tagged along with the national chapter with a buddy of mine. My girlfriend lives in Crystal City, and it seems that's where everyone stayed this year. My buddy was out at Fort Washington on Saturday, though. He said that was a great time.
Was there to,not too far from you, about 10-12 rows leaving ahead of you, was also at Patriot on Monday and then rode up to Battlefield, was a fantastic Memorial weekend ! Nothing like it, got our rooms for next year !
Yeah, our plan was to be way up front this year... I was ready to ride at 6:30. My buddy got pretty torn up the night before and didn't wake up til about 7:00 though, so we found ourselves pretty far back.
