The other perspective
Why does anyone have a conversation if not to exchange ideas and views. What group would you suggest is better to discuss this with?
I was putting forward something that has bugged me everytime I sit down for a quite meal outdoors on a nice day. Trivial to some perhaps, but intrusive nevertheless.
Sure there is an element of trolling if you like, but isnt that what this is all about. It doesnt change the fact that at some time or another we all **** each other off, whatever the interests.
I would like to correct some respondents and say that I wasnt condoning some sportbikers actions whilst slagging you lot. I was careful to choose my words and state that some -- folks acted in a manner which could be aggravating. One poster said I pity the dumbass who cuts into our pack or even thinks about passing us. Hey, it's your life, use it wisely. OK, well be more considerate and dont HOG the road then. Make it possible for other road users to pass and open up your lines. Yours was the first threatening post I came across, but I havent got all the way through yet.
Nor did I condone breaking any laws in my original post, I merely stated the perceived actions of others depending on which way your two wheel interest took you.
I know some sportbikes are noisy, and I know that many ride like *****. In the main theyre a different demographic younger more testosterone (less experienced?).
Oh, and I dont hate Harleys; theyre just metal, plastic, and rubber. You cant hate a machine. Some of the machine operators leave something to be desired, be it a Ford, Porche, BMW, Honda or Harley.
Once more, Fu(k off troll.
BTW Your signature picture and details fit the post profile

..or where you fishing and got me on the hook?
In case you're confused as to why you're getting jumped...let me see if this will help you out...
How to start a fight: "Honey, why are you acting like such a bitch?"
How to avoid a fight: "Honey, you're usually in such a great mood and you seem like you're upset, is something bothering you?"
See a difference? Your post was of the "how to start a fight" variety.
You are correct, forums are for discussion/opinions, but I would ask you why on earth you would come to a Harley Forum with such an obviously provocative post? What on earth were you trying to accomplish? What's the point? Yeah, SOME Harley owners are jerk-offs, but I know of NO ethnic group, hobby, sport, group, or religion that is completely moron free. (Even the HDForums!
) No need for anyone to come here and stir up a bunch of **** by pointing out the occasional moron.
There are some things that are undeniable about the “lifestyle”. You folks are probably the most brand loyal people on the planet. I’m told the camaraderie within the HOG’s is very strong, and good luck to you.
I’m posting because I want to put over one outsiders view of some of the things we experience courtesy of some of your number.
First off – quiet weekends in some of the more popular meeting places (anywhere in N.America) are a thing of the past. I cite two of our local haunts, Fort Langley, and Harrison Hot Springs (BC). On a sunny summer weekend the peace is always shattered by the constant roar of unsilenced V twins. This is fact. It’s not necessary, even with a bike fitted with loud [illegal – you know it] pipes. You can cruise thru’ a built up area on just a whiff of throttle. You don’t need to blast 1st to 3rd from block to block. Trying to defend your loud pipes as saving lives is both misguided and hypocritical. There is no empirical evidence to support that claim, and if you really cared about your well being you’d wear proper helmets.
Possibly your perspective on sportbikers is that the often cut you up with passing maneuvers, and ride too fast.
Their perspective could be that in order to pass groups of four or more slow moving bikes they have to indulge in some spirited overtaking. Riding in side by side formation you take up more space than a Semi! A big group is extremely difficult to pass, and cutting in often becomes a necessity.
Riding abreast is not safe. I don’t need anyone to quote Police practice to me - CHiP’s type riding is for the Cops if they think it’s OK and escort/parade duty. Truth is that particularly on a bike you should always be aware of your changing surroundings and split the distance between hazards [101]. With a machine immediately to one side you’ve lost one avenue of escape/avoidance. You can’t ride in the optimum lane position.
I don’t expect this post to be received too well, but the less considerate riders amongst your number would do well to be a little more thoughtful and courteous to others. Your noisy pride and joy is an annoyance to many others - it needn't be.

How did I do?
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
You'd drop dead of a heart attack in California where you can legally split lanes.
