I have three 6 cylinder Hondas. A friend once called me a Sixmaniac - seemed like as good a pseudonym to me as any, since my normal handle was already taken.
What's your excuse?
you know around here, most of the louder bikes are metric cruisers wannabes trying to emulate what they think is the harley sound. unfortunately, it mostly just sounds like ****!
if you think i'm going too slow and you pass me, i don't care, as long as you do it in a safe manner. however, i'm usually doing at least 5 over the speed limit, so is it really necessary to pass at all? especially at 100mph on a double yellow line?
very rarely have i seen groups riding abreast, usually staggered. except for the crotch rocket crew which are generally all over the place instead of a neat, orderly formation.
know what pisses me off? those loud tin can (illegal) mufflers you crotch rocketeers like to put on your bikes so you can go out and wind it out at 10k rpm in 1 or 2 gear. then you cut all over the road, with no regard to safe traffic patterns, doing wheelies or stoppies in the middle of traffic (i have on several occasions, pulled over and called 911 on a couple of your dumbasses), and those damn powerranger uniforms. god, could you be more gay?
just 'putting over one outsiders view of some of the things we experience courtesy of some of your number'
now go scoot before your momma catches you playing on the computer again. besides, your hannah montana show should be coming on soon.....
You are another inconsequential troll. I see that a few of the other trolls decided to climb on your troll wagon.

Im posting because I want to put over one outsiders view of some of the things we experience courtesy of some of your number. First off quiet weekends in some of the more popular meeting places (anywhere in N.America) are a thing of the past. I cite two of our local haunts, Fort Langley, and Harrison Hot Springs (BC). On a sunny summer weekend the peace is always shattered by the constant roar of unsilenced V twins. This is fact. Its not necessary, even with a bike fitted with loud [illegal you know it] pipes. You can cruise thru a built up area on just a whiff of throttle. You dont need to blast 1st to 3rd from block to block. Trying to defend your loud pipes as saving lives is both misguided and hypocritical. There is no empirical evidence to support that claim, and if you really cared about your well being youd wear proper helmets.
Possibly your perspective on sportbikers is that the often cut you up with passing maneuvers, and ride too fast. Their perspective could be that in order to pass groups of four or more slow moving bikes they have to indulge in some spirited overtaking. Riding in side by side formation you take up more space than a Semi! A big group is extremely difficult to pass, and cutting in often becomes a necessity.
Riding abreast is not safe. I dont need anyone to quote Police practice to me - CHiPs type riding is for the Cops if they think its OK and escort/parade duty. Truth is that particularly on a bike you should always be aware of your changing surroundings and split the distance between hazards [101]. With a machine immediately to one side youve lost one avenue of escape/avoidance. You cant ride in the optimum lane position.
I dont expect this post to be received too well, but the less considerate riders amongst your number would do well to be a little more thoughtful and courteous to others. Your noisy pride and joy is an annoyance to many others - it needn't be.
As a fellow Englishman, Mr Sixmaniac you do nothing to improve our standing amongst our North American colleagues. Frankly I am embarassed about the way you have gone about raising this topic. Sure you may have a point and on this forum it's all part of the fun to be provocative, be controversial but don't be a pompous and condescending. You may recall we English tried to do that a few hundred years back and they kicked our asses out.... Enough. Over and Out.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
I remember going down a scenic road last year with 3 other friends. We were in staggered formation with about a bike and a halfs length in between us. 2 sportbikes come up from behind us weaving in between us at about 15 miles an hour faster than we were going...and we were NOT going slow. Care to comment? This is TYPICAL behavior for sportbikes in our area.
I live about a mile from the highway and a few houses down from a main road. I hear FAR more SPORTBIKES than I do Harley's.
Since we are apperently using blanket statements for riding ettiquette to brands..
Get off your high horse and smell your own S*** ...it smells too.
P.S. I have yet to see ONE sportbike rider with full gear this year.

I most certainly hope nobody tries to weave through groups I have been riding with. Someone will suffer serious injuries. It won't be us. These people are real laid back, but I know they would not tolerate that for one second.
