I like some of you people about a windsheild some with not ride on the highway. I know I ride year round Just go out in some of the weather as we do. The rain is stop by my windsheild and lowers. Some the things the windsheild has stop like a 2x4 flying off a truck Then is alot of tire blow out I have watch in front of me with parts of that tire hitting the sheild. And those birds just leave so much blood all over the bike. And go ride like we do every other month there a oil change. keep riding on But be safe.
When I was young and fearless I wouldn't get close to a bike with a shield but now that I'm old and stupid I won't ride without one. However I do agree most bikes look best without one.

That's part of the deal right there riding all year round. Rocks, wood chips, bird doo, beetles, bumble bees, rain, spit, cigarette butts, etc. all bounce off the plastic while I guess the naysayers suck it up. Yep, wimpshield, bring it on! One thing I can say, I'm still purdy! Can you?

I've been on just about every bike there is with a windshield of some kind, and the shields never caused me anything but problems...I have one that was "gifted" to me hanging in my garage that would fit my last 3 bikes, and I have no use for it...I'm comfortable without them...I'll be 60 in a few months and I don't see one anywhere in my near future...I've noticed over the years tho, that guys who don't use them don't care one way or the other if other guys do...but too many guys who have them seem to have some idea that you can't ride distance without them, and usually end up with "well when you get older..." when they're actually a lot younger than me...lol...each to their own, I always say...
So what's a long day of riding for you? If you can do 6 or 7 hundred miles miles or more without a shield my hat is off to you. If not, you're just cruising locally. I don't have a shield on my '49 for the same reason, it's just for profiling and looking good.

I don't really like the way it looks on my super Glide, but I ride it much more than I look at it and I'd rather be comfortable while riding. I had actually considered taking it off for awhile until I demo'd a Street Bob at Arizona Bike Week. Huge difference. I'm leaving it on.
