I have a FirstGear MeshTex, and love it in real hot weather. Works great
I just bought the Switchback H-D jacket and it works great too in Mesh version, I'd still prefer the FirstGear in real hot over 90deg weather, since it's a bit lighter than the H-D. Recommend them highly.
Living in CA we get some good heat. This jacket has
removable waterproof inner lining, and a removable outter shell that leaves me with a mesh body leaving the tan top of the arms with the elbow, sholder, and back protection/supports. Best thing I ever stumbled on. I was very comfy in the heat.
Just finished at 1200 mile ride in my HD Switchback Jacket from DFW to South Padre Island and back. I never felt hot in the jacket when temps were in the Upper 90's. And I have work the jacket in the 40's with no problem.....Worth every penny!!!!
I have the new harley mesh jacket with the eagle on the back.
It came with no armor, but I ordered some dual-density armor for the shoulders and elbows.
I love it. Its a little cold even at 80, and I like cold.
I've been in the high 90's with it, and it is still comfortable.
I love my Motoport Ultra ll Kevlar air mesh. Check out the tear strength and abrasion of variable types of material, then make a smart decision. ANY type of protection is better than none at all.
I have the HD switchback mesh jacket. In warm weather it acually is cooler than the tee shirt as long as wind is moving.
I found the Switchback at a dealer marked down to $175. Worn it on a sunny 85 degree day and was loving it.
Many years I went down in a t-shirt. My leather jacket was bungee-corded to the rear sissybar, I swore it would never happen again.
Just waiting for the 90/95 summer afternoons to give it a real test, but Iam sure it will do the job
I bought an AGV Sport and I don't like it. It's o.k. while on the highway catching a breeze but around town and in stop and go traffic it's like wearing a plastic bag. If I'm going on the highway I wear leather. In the summer here in Tucson if I'm just riding around town I admittedly take my chances and wear a long sleeve T shirt and leather vest.
Same idea with helmets. On a trip I wear a full face Nolan and in town I wear a 1/2 Shoei.

In the summer time in Phoenix, leather is just out of the question. I wear a denim jacket during the hot season. At any speed over 30-35mph, the air goes right through it, but it still provides some skid protection, and it protects the skin from burning and dehydrating.
I wore my Teknic mesh jacket to ride to work today- high temps supposed to be 90. I have a black one- don't know why- should have probably bought gray, but it seems comfortable enough when it is 90 degrees. I just can't bring myself to ride without a protective jacket and the mesh fills the bill when it is too hot to wear leather.
