Evo's are great. I have had my share and love them. For a modern bagger however I like the twinkie.

I had two EVO's before the Twinkie , an '84 Tour Glide that I put 220k +/- on in four years and an '88 Tour Glide that I put almost 350k on in 20 years ..

I went from the '88 to the '08 Roadie .. Yesterday was 11 months I have had the Roadie ..

Time will tell , I know of quitea few high mileage Twinkies , so I dont think thats an issue , I'm with IA , maybe too many things to go wrong you cant fix onna side of the road ..

For my .02. I think if you are diligent about your maintenance, either motor will last. My 95 Evo now has 150,100 mile son the odometer and has had no problems at all. Still strong, no smoke, compression within factoryspecs. BUT.....I change oil every 2500 miles. I'm sure there will be a twinkie with similar results . Do your maintenance, enjoy the ride a long time.

I love my Twin Cam, but I'd also like to any of EVO's back (3), and wished I'd kept my LowRider. I've had Shovels, Ironheads, and that EVO was the best of the Lot! 1987 Willie G. Anniversary LowRider. Great bike!!

Got a twin cam and an evo. Next bike will probably be another evo. I like that engine.

I have a 1990 FXSTC , a 2006 Streetbob and a 2008 Nighttrain in the garage....

Like the ole fx the best, feels like comin' home when I crawl on her, she's got soul and spirit...things a twincam can't give you...no way
