I look at the guage as indicator on when I ought to start looking at my odometer to see how many miles I've gone since the last fill up. Then when the low-gas signal comes on on the speedo I really start watching the odometer. I typically will start looking for gas when I hit the 180 miles mark. I'm like seriously looking for gas if the light comes on and I'm at 185 or higher.
