That is why you wear glasses, to keep the bugs out yor eyes.
Haven't found any glasses that work to keep my eyes from watering like crazy. The bugs hit me all over my face - but then, I already knew that before I rode lidless because I have to clean my face shield 3 or 4 times a day. ... and clean them off my bike.
As for liking the wind in my face... I get plenty of it with my helmet on, but then, wind in my face isn't what I like about riding. If I rode just because I liked wind in my face, I could just sit at home, facing a fan.
I have a HJC full face (Symax 2) and a HCJ half helm too. So far I've only worn the full face. Sometime this summer I'll have to take a ride or two with the half helm to see how I like it. When I bought them, I figured the half helm would be for summer riding and the full face would be for rain and colder temps.
Has any full-face helmet wearers experienced this and if you also wear a half or open, did this feeling go away after you began wearing the helmet?
Yes, I've experienced it. I wore a full face while the kids were young. I bought the half helmet when the youngest turned 18. Yes, I got over it. I still use both helmets.
The half-helmet is a nicer lid in that it puts you in touch with the ride a lot more. The full face is safer and more comfortable w/r/t bugs and sand tossed up by trucks on the road -- and rocks, of course.
If I want the wind in my face with the FF, I just put the visor up. But the FF is more like riding in a sedan. Sometimes I make the informed choice to accept more risk in exchange for more enjoyment and go with the half-helmet. (I wear goggles to take care of the teary-eye problem.)
This isn't a helmet debate thread, just a question for full-face helmet wearers.
I've always worn a full-face helmet without exception. I'd like to buy a half or open face, but when I tried them on I felt very uncomfortable like I was exposed or just a general unsafe feeling. Hard to describe, but I felt "insecure" if that makes sense.

I'd like to buy a half or open face but I'm not sure I'd wear it.
for local barhopping, fair weather evenings, or bikes with giant windshields, i spoze a half helmet is comfy enough...
if you 'ride it like you stole it', a ff helmet keeps the debris outta the face.
if you ride in the rain and sleet, and live on your bike, every day a ff helmet works really well.
if you would rather drive a pickup truck than wear a helmet, well go ahead.

I wear a fullface 98 % of the time but own a 1/2 helmet too. I feel naked in the 1/2 helmet and it's apparent from the moment I put it on that I'm not has protected. My choice no helmet law here.
It's a different helmet and if your uncomfortble wearing a 1/2 helmet you should not wear it, it's your choice.
Make your own decision on how you want to protect your head.
Funny,I have only worn a helmet when it was law.A full face scares the livinbecrap out of me.My hearing, vision, sense of smell, are so impaired,it takes all the joy out of riding. An open face when at road speed, makes me feel like I am slowing being hung by the neck.Nothing against those of you that wear them, your choice, thankfully.

I always rode with a full face. After not riding for many years, when I bought the Fatty I also purchased a full face. I have since switched to a 1/2. I like it much better because I can see and hear.
