Used HOG roadside assistance for a tow last fall. Excellent service, picked up within an hour, received my "callback" from HOG after about 45 minutes to check on me, took me to the dealer of my choice even though it wasn't the closest for no extra fee. And, best of all it is all free with my lifetime membership that I bought back in 1990 for $150.

Our group stopped for a biker this weekend who was having problems. No cell service in the area so we rode to where we had cell service. Called HOG and they said the dealer would be out in 30 minutes. That turned out to be a couple hours but they did show up and get him back on the road.

I had a flat rear tire on major route to the Jersey shore. After an hour on the phone with hog and another hour waiting for a call back I was told "Sorry we don't have anyone in that area to help."

I have never had to use Hog but I know someone and I was there when they called hog. It took several hours and a few calls but the truck arrived and the nearest dealer was almost two hundred miles away. They fixed the bike that day. Could have been worse--could have been better, but being with a dead bike in the middle of nowhere desert west Texas in the summer--it was good to see help. We sure weren't going to be able to shove that HD to the dealer.

Wife and I were coming home from lousyana when she picked up a nail in her rear tire. Raining and T'storms everywhere. Called HOG, was put on hold for about 10 minutes when finally we were told no one was available at this time. They would locate someone and send them to pick us up. This was in Hammond La. (not a small town).

Diald 1-800-466-4411 (remember this number). This is Google information and it's free. Two calls later and we had a tow service show up with a trailer. He lowered the trailer we rolled her bike on it, raised it and we were at the dealership within an hour.

HOG never called us back either.

I don't know where the poster got $20.00. Last time I checked it was $45.00 or so for HOG membership. So for two bike it would have been $90.00 a year. No thanks. I will take my chance on the road for service and my insurance company will reimburse a portion.

My membership only costs $20 a year, for the basic membership. I have not had to use it but have a friend who tried to use it on a Sunday and was basically told no one was available to help.

I heard that this year's HOG membership DIDN't include towing reimbursement. I had used (1) last year and was informed then that I could only use (1) per year. Then this year when I renewed my HOG membership I was informed that towing was NOT included this year.

I then joined AMA and was told that towing reimbursement was included and that there wasn't a limit on number of times used per year.

Do you mean associate membership? The National HOG does not offer a basic membership. The cost is now $25.00 for associates, and associates are not eligible for Roadside assistance.

Where did you hear that from? The roadside assistance is still listed as part of the benefit package on the HOG website for Full and Life members.
