Woman charged with FT Yield/serious bodily harm Misdemnor
I aint talking to Ins cos's except my own agent.
Woman was driving a rental and Enterprises ins is listed on Report. The cop gave me car drivers Integon Ins. also.
1 Do I need to get a lawyer right away?
2 How the crap do I find a good 1 ?
Thanks for the help. I know some of you have experience.
I also would not talk to insurance people other than your own. One wrong word and they will be all over it. I would be looking for a lawyer now but I haven't a clue on how to find the right one. Perhaps your insurance agent can help you.
I would suggest asking around and finding a lawyer your friends, co-workers or relatives recommend as soon as you can. The at fault driver's insurance company is going to put together an offer ($) to settle the civil part of the case. You might be tempted at their first offer without knowing that a first year lawyer could easily get you guys 10 times as much. If nothing else your lawyer can field the mail and telephone calls so you can concentrate on helping Lisa recover. Some lawyers in these types of cases don't request payment until the case is settled in court.
Know you have alot on your plate but I'd retain one asap. Should be plenty of eager civil trial attorneys willing to take a case like that. Fees are generally set by law.
I'd look for a large reputable firm with the resources and track record to stay on top of things for you and not just be paper pushers.
I own an insurance agency. My brother is an attorney in Chicago. He handles these cases all the time. Find a good attorney, and follow his advice. This is big time. You need a pro who will get you the compensation you deserve.
Do NOT talk to any insurance company. Have your attorney do it.

Yeah, you need a lawyer. I like the suggestion of asking around at your dealer or your insurance agent , though if you have under insured coverage with them they might not be helpful. You might even try contacting someone that has been around your local HOG chapter for a while. Until you know the level of the insurance the other party has it would also be wise to be very cautious with your own insurance company. You might end up having issues with them as well. any research you do on your own about the attorneys background will be worth your time. An attorney can make your life easy or they can make it very very difficult. Good luck.
Anyway, the last thing you need is to worry about insurance companies, you guys have enough to worry about.
