Today went riding doing same thing also seems to be running rough and no power. The Fatboy dont shut down rear cylinder when they get hot do they? After bike sits for a while and cools down sounds and runs fine until it gets hot

Sounds like te Heat Management program kicking in. The bike should only run on 1 cylinder when at idle at a pre-determined temperature. Once you begin to apply the throttle, such as when leaving a stoplight the rear cylinder should come back on. If however you're experience thiswhile riding, I don't know what to tell you except to consult your dealer.

For what it's worth, the Touring bikes are able to activate and deactivate the Heat Management feature by twisting the throttle forward and holding it in place for approx 5 seconds. Since your Fatboy is not throttle by wire, I would assume that only your dealer could deactivate it, if in fact that is what's going on. Either way, it sounds like something is malfunctioning.

With a 98*F outdoor temp, any air cooled harley seems to run hot. It will roast your chestnuts.

I'm pretty sure Softails don't have the rear cylinder cutout. Not by design, anyway.

Found problem when they did the download for pipes and air cleaner they downloaded the rear cyl shut off only the touring bikes come with this but they can put it with the download it kept the cylinder shut off which seemed like a miss. They changed the download and removed the shut off. Thanks for everyones advice
