Riding in Wa. state....if you wait for a day that it might not rain you won't ride. But I gotta tell ya it makes a 75 degree sunny day down right glorious riding along the bay. Maybe thats why there are so many baggers in this state.
Yup, I use to laugh and poke fun at the âFair-weather-ridersâ, but now, I guess I am one. I use to ride in about anything, guess Iâm getting old. I wont start out in the rain unless I have to. The only consequence I see in being a fair-weather-rider is, my cycle sure stays a lot cleaner.
I will ride in the rain but can't say that I enjoy it, I'll actually avoid going out if I can't ride the bike. The truck is mainly for family outings otherwise I'll ride.
I live in the boonies! I love it, but have 2 miles of gravel anyway I leave my driveway. When it rains it will make a bike ugly quick! If I get caught in it when I am out I have no choice. If it's raining before, than the bike stays in the shed. As far as cold goes, anymore it has to be 65 or more for me. 3 years ago I weighed 115# more than I do right now and could ride in the high 30's in a T- shirt! Now I am one cold blooded SOB!
Well I don't feel so bad now I guess, really the warm weather is better for me...every since that night I rode
and the temp without the wind was -7, I cannot stand to get the least bit cold.
I know I must have done something to my hands because when the temp outside is
below 40 my finger tips get numb. It took a good half hour for my hands to thaw out that night
and the pain was intense when they did get feeling in them!
I have gradually drifted south from Ohio where I am originally from, and the warm weather is in
my blood now, no cold for me if I can help it.
The rain doesn't bother me, it is just the cleaning that I face after it's over...I am so **** about my
bike being clean.
I'll ride in the rain if I have too, if i get stuck in it. Won't take the bike out if it's colder than 50. I LOVE riding but for me it's strictly a luxury item, a summer toy to be enjoyed and I don't enjoy freezing my butt off! If i lived in the deep south where it's warm all the time I'd probably ride my bike 90% of the time but here up north I ride it when it's nice out. (And unfortunately it's too short of a season!)
