My daughter gave me my bell.
Strictly tradition.
If you have real good eye sight, you might be able to see it hanging, from the floor board's, front bracket, in my signature picture.

My wife gave me one for Xmas like 3 years ago. I put it on the Harley and now I listen to it ringing from time to time. It is the only bike I have that has one on it.
I had never heard of them before until this morning. However, laying under the Christmas tree this morning was a small box with a bell in it for my Roadking. I will take any luck I can get these days. It also makes it that much more lucky because my wonderful wife gave it to me.
Tradition here too, but if a little good ride luck comes along with it, I won't complain.
Exactly... Same here.
I just got a new bike on the 10th and didn't even leave the dealership lot without first affixing the Bell on the bottom of the right engine guard. This bell was on my previous bike also that was totalled by a dirtbag that rear-ended me at 85-90 mph on the freeway per a witness. I landed on the back of my head at 65+ mph when I fell free of the bike (no tourpack or sissy bar). The bell was unharmed and I walked away with some minor road rash in one spot - so I think the bell worked and won't ride without it...
