Had an old friend give me a bell after he heard this BS story. I gave it back to him and told him to keep that G-A-S to himself.
I started riding in the mid-1960's and never heard to such "tradition" until the internet came around. The "gremlin bell" should be called "the poser bell".
...and check who drug up a two and a half year old thread
Under the motor is a bell my Dad gave to me, when I returned from the service in '77. He rode in the 30's and 40's (decades, NOT his age )
Everytime the pan rolls, he is along and SMILIN'.
There is also a sterling silver US flag ride bell just under the headlight, that Momma gave me when the chop got finished.
GUMBY usually rides atop the risers for the bars.
The '78 has a sterling silver POW-MIA ridebell on it that Momma also gave to me last Christmas when I brought the scoot home.
Momma has a sterling silver Rose bell on her scoot that I gave her. It has been transferred (Christmas Day) to her 'new' Sporty. And she has a "Pokey" attached to the bottom of her triple tree.

I have on on both my bikes. In fact, my daughter got me the one I just put on the Haritage as a Christmass gift. The one on the Deuce was given to me by a friend in FL that I ride with when I'm there.
I have one on my bike it was given to me by a friend when I got the bike. I have given bells to friends who have got bikes.tradition but I need all the luck I can get.
