Now I have another issue with another left turn light near my house. This one is one of the camera monitored lights, if you run it you will get a $75 ticket in the mail. On top of that, they deemed it a civil fine and you cannot contest it in court. First time I pulled into that left turn lane, the light never changed. I was going to run it after a couple cycles like I normally do, but then I realized I would get a ticket. The camera doesn't know I waited. I backed up some, got into the other lane and went straight. Since then I have just avoided that lane until I talk to the city about what my options are there, or they come fix it.
As far as I know, the photo lights around here take a picture of your car as you are coming through the intersection... gets your front license plate and your face in the shot. See where I'm going? Since your bike doesn't have a front license plate.....?????? I've wondered about that
I just wait untill the traffic is clear and go on. I do belive that it is now leagle in South Carolina for motorcycles to turn left on red. 1 of 6 states. It was just recently put into effect.
I've never had that problem much although it happens to my daughter alot. She has a Sportster Custom and I have a Nightster. I say the reason is I'm lower to the ground so the sensor can sense me better.

Got a few lights that just wont pick up bikes and got that same problem. Good thing happening though. They are putting these camera looking things at the intersections, theys are not cameras, but sense motion and will trip the light. They do work, in time more lights will get these as they require much less maint their saying. Til then, wait a while and run them.
You poor saps go way too far out of your way to TRY and accommodate a DEFECTIVE traffic control device. The ones I'm familiar with, I just slow enough to put a toe down. The nasty ones are with heavy traffic where they only give an arrow, or no arrrow, because no cars are going your way, but there are a lot of other cars. Its like frogger and there aint much way out with all the concrete medians and such.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
Had this week down in Tenn. I was heading home from tenn to Mich, and left there at 3 am. Hit the light on the way the freeway. Waited a LONG time and said screw it and ran thru. 1/2 mile later, hit another that did the same damned thing. Again I waited, then made my left turn
With only 7 states allowing this move, you best know which ones do and don't. I did not know att he time that tenn allowed it, but I knew that Mich doesn't.
Bottom line, is the design being used is CRAP. better to have the lights TIMED so that all vehicles can move safely
