I have one of those temp guages that stick down into the oil filler cap area. It hits 250 in 100+ weather.
I asked my dealer about an oil cooler and/or synthetic oil. With every incentive to sell me either one or both of these he said "fuggetaboutit".
So I think unless you do a lot of parade stuff, you're OK.
