U mean the dealer said the stock 08's bottom end are different from the 07's?
Don't know about specific years. I was just told that the 08 bottom ends wouldn't need to be worked on and the crank was strong enough to hold up to a 113.
I have a buddy with a 09 S/G he had the dealer do the 113 before he picked it up, this thing is BADD and covered under factory warrenty since it was done in the first 1k miles and done at the dealer. D&D pipe and programmer were all done. Added about 4k to the price....
the motors with the HD kits tend to leak up top for some reason. I've seen a few in person. Bet the owners weren't real happy.
I have built several 113's and no top end leaks. I would re-consider buying the HD kit. It will provide much more power than stock, you can expect more using differnt cam/head combination. The ones I built made 120 horse and 133 pounds foot of torque. Use the psiton cylinder kit, send the crank to Darkhorse for rework. This is a priority. If this step is not done, bottom end will come apart. Either for crank repair/replacement, or it will do it itself. Send the stock heads to T-Man and run his 590 cam. New oil pump chain drive and support plate are fine. SERT with 53 HP Inc T-body. A.I.M. clutch lockup with SE clutch spring.
