Default H-D Switchback Jacket

I've read numerous post recently on jackets, and am interested in checking out the H-D Switchback Jacket. Haven't seen one at local dealers, and web search results very little.

Was this a seasonal item?

I really like the idea of a mesh jacket with a zip apart nylon shell and waterproof liner. Almost three jackets in one.
Any info on this is appreciated.

I have one and love it. The difference between the men and womens is the color. Mine has light colored sholders (very light tan) which is great for the heat.

I have seen a couple for men at the dealers around me but either they are going fast or they are not carrying many (mine is the only one I have seen for women locally). Might check some of the online dealers.

Love mine. I actually saw a few more about a month ago at the Fullteron, CA H-D dealer. Was surprised they had the full size run. Seems it was a "limited edition" btw.

Right now the mornings are in the 60's, so I wear it with the outer section on, In the Afternoon its in the 80's, on my way home, unzip outer and leave the light mesh section. Feels great, but still have the armore where i need it!

I saw the lady's version about a month ago, but didn't realize it at the time. I think that jacket looks sharp.
I checked every online dealer I know of (most bookmarked from posts on this forum), no luck.
Oh well, you'll have that.

Guess limited edition means I'm SOL.
The riding scenario you describe is exactly why I'm interested.
I wonder if H-D would be willing to sell me three differnet jackets instead of just one multi-use? [:@]

I have the other one, that was $85 and has an eagle on the back. I wanted the switchback, but I delayed a week and they were gone.

I use the liner out of my fxrg when its cold, and I can ride even in the high 30's comfortably. It's not waterproof, but it doesn't absorb water, and the liner is waterproof.

It compresses nicely and works out just as well for me. Something to think about if you already have a liner in another jacket.

It was a seasonal item, so when the dealers stock was gone-its was gone for good.

I bought one and like the versatility. If you can find one online I would buy it-you won't go wrong on this one! It is very well made and comfortable. I wear the mesh even in hot weather, but again I am one of those who believes that the time you hit the deck is the time you would wish you had some protection. Same reason I wear a full face helmet.

I have a feeling hubby is going to be sorry he didn't buy the one we saw....
He rides a Honda and doesn't want the Harley logos all over his jackets...makes him feel like a poser, though he does have and FXRG right now the logos are small.

Harley does make some nice clothes.

I think I saw one at the Lancaster, California shop last weekend you could call or email them to see if they still have it.
