Yes, typically once you arrive at the designated destination, the official HOG ride has concluded. Then, when "spirits" are consumed, the HOG organization has no liability for your behavior or safety after that point.
Sounds like the Boy Scouts of America. Culpable deniability. Please pass the vag cream. I'm beginning to smell salmony.
We have a from and to destination for our Chapter Rides. On the way back, people pull off when they are close to their homes. When we do stop for dinner on the rides, many of our members may have 1 beer if any, most drink non-acholohic beverage.
I would suspect that if there is drinking involved at the end of a Chapter Ride that there would be some liablity that HOG would not want to be responsible for.
Our chapter has both, out and back and destination rides.. Usually the out and back ends up somewhere so anybody can get a cold one..The destination ride usually is a long ride and once there everyone is on their own to get back.. we have some that want to blast back home quickest way, some want to stop and shop, some take the scenic route... It's all good.. For a motorcycle riding club it ain't too bad..
If I wanted to join an organization like this I would have bought a Gold Wing. Does HOG look for a destination with a Blue Plate Special for the gentry on the group?
