Guy at work did it a couple of years ago, but they had a special going on at the time.....not sure what he paid, but he now has over 300K on the original engine, (with the reman of course). Said the motor was out about 4 weeks, and a couple at the stealer to have it reinstalled......hope this helps!

Yep, just got my 06 Street Glide back. Had just under 27K on her when a piece of the oil pump gave way, messed up the lower end, and Dealer said it would cost less to have it remanufactured. Motor reman listed for about 2700 and with labor I paid something in the neighborhood of 3 grand. I've put about 300 miles on it since I picked her up on Saturday morning. Hope this helps. No, I didn't have the extended warranty and still undecided if I would get it on another bike.

I love the idea of a factory remanufactured engine.

I don't like the requirement that I let a dealer remove it and put it back in. If they would let me do it myself and ship it to them, I guarantee that a lot garage wrenchers would take them up on it.

Riding buddy sent his Rk in for a remanned EVO at *** HD in Rock Hill SC. Took about a month to get it back but they gave him a loaner bike. When he got it back, the alternator crapped out the first day he picked it up. No problem ... warranty. Second day it began to run rough, no problem ... warranty, changed all the sensors, still ran badly no problem ... warranty, they changed all the injectors, still ran rough. They finally called the factory who asked if they did a baseline on the computer before giving it to him, something about getting a zero point for the sensors. They said....uh...baseline ??? UHHH No problem. . He sent it in with 238k and it now has over 270 with no additional problems. Took *** a while to get it but they stood by him and never mixed words about not honoring their part of the bargain.

That only $600 short of replacement cost for a 3.0 24V engine in my '08 Ford Fusion with a brand new crate engine.

I think it would be a good choice unless you could get a better or about equal deal on a S&S power plant???
