Just wondering if I could get some expert advise on two bikes a buddy of mine is going to bid on at an auction, first is a 2003 screaming eagle softail deuce anniversary edition with 6000 miles the second is a 1999 heritage springer with 16,000 miles we checked NADA but was wondering what a fair price would be at an auction. Thanks for any input on this.

Tough to answer just based on year and model info. What is condition, mileage etc? Take a look on ebay and see if there are any on there. It's a buyers market right now so I wouldn't get too crazy bidding at a live auction. It's easy to let the excitement of the event take over and bid more than you should without hardly realizing what you are doing before it's too late.

I have a dealer license and go to a lot of auctions, be careful. I am assuming that this auction is open to the general public, if it is there is a good chance the bikes will sell for more than they are worth. I see it all the time you have to do your research and decide on a number that is the MAX you are willing to go and stick to it. Check out NADA, Kelly Blue Book, and the local classified adds. Also if you are not paying cash make sure you can borrow enough money. Most auctions if you win the bid and cannot come up with the balance you loose your earnest money.
