Tourmaster Intake Air 2 is slightly more than the Joe Rocket but holds up a bit better. Armor is removable and comes with a thermal liner and a rain liner. I love this jacket. Great in almost all conditions. I can carry my regular glasses, house keys, cell phone, pack of gum and a pack of butts while riding and still have extra pockets/room.
Yep mesh or perforated leather is the way to go. If you're a size 46-48, my husband has a barely used Fox Creek perforated leather jacket for sale, reasonable for the quality.

I got a black mesh jacket from Leatherup.com that is great. It has armor, a water proof and cold weather linder, both removable and looks great. the only thing I didn't like were the orange x-element patch on the arms so I cut them off. Used it all the way to sturgis and back with my vest over it and was cool as a cucumber.I think it cost me 70 dollars.

The harley jackets with "switchback technology" are great. I have one of their textile versions - it has removable portions on the sleeve and front/back, so it can also double as a jacket for colder weather. It has armor in the elbows/shoulders, so it does afford some protection. I really love the jacket.
