07 FXDWG bad battery

07 FXDWG bad battery
Get a load of this crap [ pics enclosed] my 07 with 1700 miles [ got her as a left over]
just 30 days to the day out of warranty burned out the battery terminal.
Mind you I havd a previous problem with that and was told by the dealer I had to keep the terminal "Bolt" tight"
Anyway today After a few revolutions trying to start her she quit. Could just hear the relay clicking.
After a long search I found the neg. bat terminal was melted. The only thing on that was the ground wire [ which I check the frame ground] and the dealer installed battery tender]
Went to [ with the bike]
"Suffolk County Harley davidson in Oakdake NY" and was told in so many nice words Tuff ****. by the service MGR. But I'll look into it . All he did was write my name a slip of scrap paper.
Beware all of
SC HD . Bye the way this is the second bike I got from them . After the org. Owner Mr Baron pasted on the place went to hell. I'll stand by my words

So you had a problem before with the connection being loose??
Maybe the threads were over torqued at some point in the past.

Well.....
Its either a very weak battery, or you have a short somewhere. Good luck tracing down the short, and I am sure that you will need a new battery. You may want to have your stator checked, cause that will cause the same issue if it is not operating like it should. Did it previously have a sort of tough time starting to begin with? Meaning, that when you hit the start button it turns over slightly then fires up.

You did think this would have happened 30 days "before" the warranty expired did ya?

No I don't drink starbucks [work 6 days]
Anyway I figured I'd be in for a new battery, but the dealer could have atleast offered a discount.
With the PCIII If I scew up the quick starting procedure, she will turn over 5 or 6 times.
But after that she fires right up. No codes in the system.
Note on the pic
The tool marks are from trying to get the terminal close enough to make contact. But the melted lead top and loose " metal" bolt conector are as I found it.
