Show us a pic and if possible a close up of the VIN. Someone here might know. What year did you think it was before you bought it and how much did you pay?
Just take it to your local Police station. They can tell you everything about including who it was stolen from in case you want to get ahold of him to get some history on it.
The way I read this post is, he picked up a bike, he knows the year but he's wondering if some knowledgable forum member would be so kind as to inform him which letter or number in his seven digit vin verifies the year.
