RK, been down this road before, I was not satisfied until I got into the touring line.

Again, thanks for all the comments. I found another thread on this forum talking about the Road King vs. the Heritage. No one slammed the Heritage, but it was 100% unanimous that the Road King wins. Shows what little I know! I will take everyone's advice and experience and go for the Road King. At least, that's what I figure I'll do as of 10:19pm today!

as much as I like a softail - I'd choose a RoadKing over a Heritage.

I would get a nice 2-4 year old used one with < 10,000 miles.

I recently ordered a 2010 Heritage.
I like the idea of stripping it down (removing the bags), adding a low pro solo seat. Little more flexibility than a Touring bike.

Check out the photo section and see what jumps out at you.

Good luck.

Actually, at this point my decision is between a 2010 Heritage Softail Classic and a 2009 Road King.

Don't buy a bike for what it is,
insted buy it for what it can be.
As you can see from my pic
I ride a Dirt Road King Classic.

What I want it to be, mostly, is something I don't regret buying. Or that I find myself saying "shoulda bought the other one" months from now.

Made up a pros/cons sheet for both. It's pretty much a wash at this point.
