Ain't no need to put the bike on a lift unless you want to. Sitting on the floor is not gonna hurt the suspension or tires. Just make sure your tires are pumped up.

I used to ride in the winter if there was no ice on the roads. There were plenty of days that would rain instead of snow to help wash salt off the roads. When I started it up, I was usally tinkering with something in the garage anyways and would let it run for a while. Had electric heaters out there as well. Never got those flat spots on the tires that was mentioned in another post. I wouldnt put mine away until around Thanksgiving or later depending on the weather.

cover, put carpet under it, charcole on the seat (same stuff old grills used to use, soaks up moisture) some stabil in the tank and fire it up every now and then... i ride mine in the winter, not like MidnitEvil does, (your nuts man it gets way to F'N cold here!) but i do move it around so it does not get flat spots in the tires...
i got 5 bikes and winterize 8 (mine and dads) never had any issues... on carb bikes i like to turn off the fuel and run the carbs out and drain the bowls if i know they will not be moved... but last year i just ran staybil in them and they where fine. carpet is a must for keeping the moisture from coming up through the concrete...

Layers & heated gloves. It isn't cold until you get down to single digits.

Central Illinois temps allows me to ride part of the winter. I keep it in an attached garage which is unheated. I don't cover it nor do I put a battery tender on it. I do have a question about condensation though. I noticed it last year on my last bike. A buddy of mine said he bought a rubber mat and keeps his Harley on it during the winter and has never had condensation since. Anyone out there park theirs on rubber, plywood, or carpet to prevent condensation?
