It seems if you were to dump fix-a-flat in a tire with the beads they would end up being one huge clump...
While I've not experienced a flat tire on a motorcycle (everyone, knock on wood), but as I understand it, once you get one, it's going to need to be replaced. With this in mind, we all now know the many wonderful benefits of Dyna Beads. So what if you get a flat and have Dyna Beads installed inside your tires. Use the fix-a-flat to get you to your destination. Sure it will cause the micro-beads to clump up, just ride slower as fix-a-flat with or without Dyna Beads is still only a short-term fix anyway. Dyna Beads are cheap enough to keep an extra tire or two's worth on hand.

Dyna beads work best with tubeless tires. Although I have heard of them in tube type, I've only used them in tubeless. The best way to repair a puncture in a tubeless tire is to plug it as you would a car tire. I have done this as a permanent repair at least 10 times on my bikes and gone the rest of the mileage on the tire. When I plug a tire the "hole" is at the 9 o'clock position. The beads are all down around 6 o'clock. Let the glue dry and roll away. I have observed that within 20-30 minutes the plug glue is dry enough that the beads woouldn't stick. In a worst case situation, only as many beads as would stick to the exposed surface area of the glue would stick. Unless you use a LOT of glue, that won't be many. The reamining beads shoudl balance the plug and the beads stuck to the glue (if any). I've been using them for a few years now and the only downside I've encountered is they get all over when you change a tire. Unless you vacumn them out first.

Interesting. What are you plugging your tires with?
Also will have to get my buddy with his 280 mph Bonneville lakester to try them.
A customer quote from Innovative Balancing's website:
Hi Carol,
We are happy to report the safe return to Nashville of our customer, Lynn Stubblefield, from the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Lynn rode his turbo-powered Suzuki Hayabusa equipped with Dyna Beads at this years Speed Week. His exact feed-back regarding your product is as follows:
"While using the Dyna Beads product my bike felt smooth with no noticeable bounce or wobble in excess of 193 MPH. I would recommend Dyna Beads for both street and high performance use."
We appreciate the opportunity to offer such a beneficial product to our valued customers.
Sincerely,
Melinda Thiele

Ya, I noticed that feedback on the site.
It was my job this year to balance the wheels. Not easy, not fun.
And then the weghts had to be epoxied on, which screwed up the balance further.
Next year!....
Here is a link to a website showing how to mount a tire and install Dyna Beads. They also have great prices on tires. They are the cheepest place I've found sofar http://www.jakewilson.com/videos.do?videoId=83
I cut the corner off a sandwich bag, put the beads in it and taped it shut with masking tape. Then put it in the tire when I mounted it. The bag will break open when you ride it.

I put them in my tires & didn't have to spin the wheel. The trick is to angle the bottle so just a few beads pour through the tube at a time. Tapping the tube or bottle with my fingernail helps the beads to pour in S_L_O_W_L_Y a few at a time. It works every time. About 6-7 minutes for 1 oz & double for 2. Patience is the key.
I installed 4oz of these in my truck tires and got tired of it after the first 15 mins and my arms going to sleep.
HINT:
Take an engraver and turn it on against the side of the tube the beads are going down or against the side of the valve stem itself. This will keep them from clogging the valve stem and speed the process. An extra pair of hands will make it easier but it's do-able by yourself with patience. Even with this technique it took me over 2 hours to fill all four tires on my truck (20" wheels don't balance too easy in all cases)
Give this a try... I'll be ordering my DynaBeads before I mount my tires and will pour them in before I set the bead... much easier!!!
