The purple is a dye and will dissappear over time to let you know the fluid has reach its end of life expectancy and needs replacing?

It, the brake fluid, has a compression life fatigue cycle. After a certain amount of brake applications, compressions, the fluid changes color. Well it sounded good didn't it? You know it did. Probably just age of the fluid and heat, that's my best guess.
