I am planning to paint my bike this winter and need to find a painter. One that you would trust to paint YOUR bike too. Anyone can spray a paint gun, but I want it done right.
I'm planning to have it painted Hot Rod Black, which is a Hot Rod Flatz paint. It's basically like the Harley Denim Black. The red just doesn't work for me and when I bought it a year ago the denim black fat boys that were coming in all had deposits on them.
DIY. For a small job like a bike won't require a large compressor. Get books on painting. Practice with differant paints. The worst part of shooting something is the prep. work. 40 hours of prep and 30 minutes to shoot.
It's not too close to Fort Worth or Weatherford, but it's only about 2 to 2-1/2 hours south of you.
Then again, there's always Stroker's in Dallas http://www.strokersdallas.com/, a guy i work with had his softail repainted there after he laid it down. i don't have any pictures, but they did a damn fine job, with custom paint they made.
