Has anyone had a chance to ride the new Ultra Limited with the 103 cubic inch engine.
Yup, had my new limited for 2 weeks now and love it!
I came from an '06 Ultra with the 88 inch motor and the 103 has much more torque, I especially notice it 2-up going up hills -- effortless is what comes to mind
Our local dealer has a couple coming in...supposedly one is going to be in the "fly-n-ride" program and can be rented(one of our HOG chapter guys told me that)...I read the HOG magazine article on it and it sounds real nice...
The 103 engine is what was in the older CVO bikes and has been installed in a number of police bikes ever since. It is the engine in the trike so it must be a good reliable torque master. I would love to be able to afford the Limited. Fossil
I ride an ex-police RK with the 103. I don't know how it differs from the 103 in the new Limited, but I can vouch for two things.
1: it is a torque monster
2: My right thigh gets uncomfortably hot in stop and go traffic on hot days.
I know the head pipes are different in the new bikes, which supposedly helps with the heat issue. I'm gonna have to go to true duals.

I also ride an ex-police RK with the 103,it is the bomb. The only mods that I have done Stage 1 download,SE pipes,Se/ac,and one of my crotch coolers for the Heat problem. This is the motor that you want, coupled with a 6 speed tranny it is the ultimate cruiser.
I have had mine for about 2 weeks and have only been able to put about 700 miles on it. I will say it has plenty of torque and no problem 2 up going up hill ( me:275# + passenger 150#). It does cook the s#!t out of riders right leg at stop lights. Cooks wifes right heal even when riding down the Hwy and get a little to warm on rider if outside temp is 70 or +.

the engine heat management system is designed to stop the rear cylinder spark plug from firing once the engine temp exceeds 284 degrees and you are at a stand still. the cylinder continues to turn so the back cylinder then becomes an air pump to cool the engine. once riding the rear cylinder begins to fire again. the 09 and newer touring bikes also have the redesigned exhaust moving the crossover under the frame as well as tucking the header pipe closer to the engine to keep the heat off of the riders. the ultra also has the heat deflectors under the seat. i have been riding harleys with 103 engines , or larger, for the last 6 years. they do run hotter, but you get used to it. my current bike has a 103 with the performance heads and it runs hotter than the ultra limited. i also do not have the pleasure of all the heat reducing features of the touring bikes. the added heat is worth the added performance. i love my 103.
I wouldn't think that the EPA would allow HD to put the same setup 103" in the 2010 models, as they did before the stricter EPA regulations. Wouldn't the 2010 models run hotter, leaner and have less power, due to the extra emission crap they have to add.
