Bugs won't come off....

Default Bugs won't come off....
I returned from an eight day trip the other day and promptly went to the car wash and there are a few spots that won't come off. I've tried Harley Bug remover and Simple Green full strength and let it stay on there with a cloth soaked with these things and it still looks like it's in the clear coat. Any ideas?

I usually just lay a soaking wet towel on top of the bugs for a few hours, let the bugs absorb some water, then they come right off.

If U had it waxed good I wouldn't think 8 day would eat into the clear coat, if it has them some pretty nasty bugs..

Just try different waxes and see if one does it after Ur sure all the buggies is off the finish.

Tried the Novus and it's still there. It looks like the clear coat is damaged. I had an 03 Ultra before this and never had this problem. Is the clear coat different?

Mix in a spray bottle 1/2 liquid fabric softener and 1/2 hot water. Mist it down and let it sit for a few minutes repeat about 3 times then gently wash the bike with a soft towel. Trust me here in Louisiana we have bugs down here the size of compact cars and we are use to having to remove them.

BoomerBob, I don't know if it would show up in a picture. When the light hits it you see the outline of the bug splat but it's smooth to the touch.

Good old fashioned elbow grease and some good wax always does the trick. I've been across the USA twice on my current bike and a good wax job always removes the blemishes. I use Turtle Wax.

Try a 50-50 solution of water and hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and spray on the bugs, wait 10 munutes and spray again, bugs will melt away and wash off easy.
