Default Netural or park

Now I know that if you get off your bike on a down hill slope you need to leave your bike in gear. But on flat ground How do you leave your bike??? I am **** about leaving mine in neutral. Just wondering.

I always put mine in park, set the emergency brake and make sure the seat and tray table is in the upright position.

if the bike is in neutral all you are relying on is the weigh of that bike to keep it from moving any way at all. In gear if for any reason it decided to roll or move it would not be able to. And ask around enough and you will hear stories from long time bikers that had there bike on completely flat ground on the jiffy stand and some how or another the bike moved or fell over. And that gets expensive.

As for the hitting the start while in first gear some bikes won't start some will my 07 dyna will not start in gear unless the clutch is pulled in however my buddies 07 heritage will try to lol.
