Never seen so many old threads popping up lately!!!!!!
Maybe people have realized what the search function is used for and that there is no reason to start a new thread ona subject that has been started a dozen times before. LOL
Though I have owned other bikes, I always wanted a Harley. I was married for many years to a woman who hated motorcycles and had to give up my bikes. After the divorce, I bought my first Harley. It is a 2006 Sportster. It is the smaller of the Harley bikes currently made, but it wears the name Harley Davidson. I ride it every day. I commute back and forth to work on it. I love to ride. I hope to own other Harleys. I am not attracted to other motorcycles (except maybe the Triumphs). My son owns two Hondas. They are nice and one is WAY faster than my Sportster.
Buy what you want. If you want an American Icon, get the Harley. If you just want a cheap bike to ride, you can find one lots less expensive than HDs. BUT, it isn't an HD.
Mine is loud because I like it. You won't understand until you experience it on your own bike.
I hear lots of people talking about modifying their bike to make it sound like a Harley. If you want it to sound like a Harley...buy a harley!
Is the saga over. I have been reading this post for 2 hours. Laughed so hard my sides hurt. Who is the Seth ? That guy needs to be on the comedy hour. Thanks to all who added to this story. Bryan
