Nearly everyone I see driving these days seem to be completely oblivious to anything around them, like they are looking straight ahead through a 8 inch pipe. And they drive like they are the only ones on the road.

nearly run off the road by a car passing me on the highway. I watched this same car nearly hit three other cars while passing them in on coming traffic. Get into town and I pull up next to her at a light and she was reading a book. Unbelieveable, I wanted to reach through the window and choke the **** out of her.

Saw a woman going down the interstate reading a book, speeding, in the rain. Passed her covered up body about an hour later. Had ran into the median and hit a tree.

A couple of years ago, I was sitting two back at a red stop light. Coming towards us was a young girl putiing on lipstick and makeup (maybe in her late 20's). She was looking in her rearview mirror and driving. Must have been driving with her knees. I got a bad feeling about her, so I pulled way to the right, behind the car in front of me. She comes by and misses the rear of the car in front of me by six inches and the pickup truck behind me by only a couple of inches. The guy in the pickup got really hot!!! He did a quick u-turn and chased off after her, blowing his horn and screaming out the window. Before I moved, I was sitting close to the middle line because I was going to make a left turn. If I hadn't moved, she would have hit me directly. Pays to be aware of what's going on around you!

Every time I stop at a stoplight I always leave a full length car length between me and the car in front of me and then I turn my attention to what is behind me...whether I'm in the car or on the bike...I want to be ready to move when the a-hole not paying attention approaches.
