May not be cool but sure makes for a more enjoyable ride. Put in a full day of riding without a shield versus riding with a shield and at the end of the day, you and your body will feel the difference.

rthomp159...really like the shield on your bike! Compliments the lines of the bike and the tint blends in well! What kind is it? Detachable?

I can do trips without one, I just don't want to. 500 miles without and it's dinner and bed, with and it's dinner and drinking, guess I'm getting old. In my 20's and 30's I really never even thought about a windshield.

Thanks man. It's a 16" Windvest. There are two brackets that take two allen heads each that attach to my risers. On and off takes all of 60 seconds.

That is how it all started for me... I would take it off in the warm and put it on in the cold... then it never came off which eventually led to a touring bike with a batwing

Detacheable is the way to go! Best of both worlds. After much soul searching, my next bike will be Road King because I still like to ride with the wind in my ugly mug.
