I have always lived in an area where I could pretty much ride every day of the year, sometimes comfortably, and sometimes with great discomfort, but ride just the same. Now my bike is being repaired and painted parts will be 9 weeks to come from Harley and I am having withdrawals. Now comes the respect part. I don't know how you people who live where there are actually four seasons of the year do it when ou have to put your bikes up. It has only been a week, and you already have my respect.
It pretty much sucks to be honest with you. Putting the bike cover on and hooking up the the tender is a sad sad day at my house. I find the older I get the worse the withdrawls are.
I agree 100% with that statement. I live in a climate that allows me to ride 365 days a year. My bike was just in the shop for two weeks and I dang near went nuts. It would be doubly worse if it were sitting in the garage and the weather was holding me back.
My hat's off to you guys for keeping your sanity, although I do have to say the posts get a little weird during the winter months.
I rode to work this morning, temp was about 40. Had to wear a sweatshirt over a t-shirt and under a leather jacket. Still not cold enough to start wearing the chaps, tho. Oh, and only a thin pair of riding gloves. 20 miles at 70 mph.
No respect here. The difference is your bike is being repaired and you have no control over it. They are all adults and they choose to live where they can't ride year round.
Come on, a little harrassment keeps you warm.
Now, Faber talking about riding in 6 degree weather this morning. That gains my respect.

Don't know if I agree with the premise. You can ride when it is sub freezing. Now ice is another matter.
One rider on this forum in Minnesota rides every month. Of course he cant on each day due to weather but he never puts his bike up.
Think it is time for the Yankee's to grow a pair and ride on the cold but non icy days.
But to each his own. (26 has been the lowest for me)
