If the temperature is anywhere in the 40's I can ride all day with my thinsulate ski gloves, warm as toast. If you are getting in the low 30's or 20's...I'll take the truck.
Go to Army/Navy surplus store. Buy a pair of Air Force extreme cold weather mitts. Also buy some Navy lightweight wool gloves. Remove the heavy wool mitt insert from the Air Force mitt (Unless you want your hands to sweat a bunch) and use the lighter weight wool glove inside it instead. All for $25/30 bucks. And no cords to boot. I wear this setup to scoot from Mass to Daytona each year in Feb/March.
Kinda glad to see that it's not age related, went out today at 45 , rode for an hour and when I got back in the house my fingers were white. Never felt cold, but sure didn't have much for circulation. Gonna have to get some heated gloves.

My brother came back from the air force with a pair of these, they were awesome, till my other brother took them
Another cool thing for when the temps get very low, is a extreme foul weather mask. Looks like some kind of horror movie thing, Goes over your face, has a flap goes over your mouth, Easy to wear under a helmet. I had one back in the 80's - no idea if or where one might find one.
In cold weather I have the same problem and it doesn't matter what gloves I wear unless they're heated. I got a pair of heated HD gloves off of eBay that plug into my bike and have been worth every penny. Unlike heated grips, the warmth is also spread over the tops of my hands and makes all the difference when in the wind.
+1 what Georgiagirl said. When its below 40 thats all I found that works for the fingers. Tried all kinds of thinsulate and everything they're only good for about 25-30mins.
