I was looking for a nice waterproof Duffel bag and could not find one. So I got the sewing machine out and came up with this. I made it out of chap leather and it measures 12 x 30 and you can roll it up and stash it about anywhere. If there is an interest in this let me know. I can make it about any size. If you are in to quality leather products for your bike give us a shout.
Thanks,
I have ordered some plastic belt clips and will be folding over the open end so that it will clip together like a "Dry Bag". With the drawstring it was too much material bunching up and would not allow it to close properly.
As for tie down points I plan on sewing 4 small leather straps with plastic D rings along the seam for some points to secure the bag to your motorcycle. I decided to use plastic so no metal parts would scratch the bike. As I mentioned, the bag is made of Heavy Chap Leather (nice stuff) and it will roll up to fit in a pocket.
The price for a bag this size will probably run around $120.
If you have any more suggestions or ideas to improve this, please let me know.
Question, did you seal the seams? There is a product on the market for sealing the seams in boat seat just in case you are interested.
If you did not seal the seams did you felt sew the seams so they can be waterproof?
