Sorry, Lord. I didn't think you were seeking answers -- you just seemed to be giving them.

I do have your answer if you're willing to hear it this time: when you look at someone wearing Harley logo gear and you see them as empty vessels seeking something to belong to, you're not seeing their motivations, you're seeing the reflection of your own opinion of people. You're saying what you believe to be the state of humanity in the abstract. In fact, you're revealing that you're arrogant and dismissive of others. You can sell your bike, as you say you've considered, and you can remove yourself from this forum so you don't have to deal with people like me. But you won't find the inner peace you're seeking until you realize the problem is inside yourself and not in others.

That's your answer.

i didnt realize HD made rings (not that im surprised), and upon learning, my knee-jerk reaction was "married to material objects."

this is probably really old fashioned, and maybe a little pretentious, but i dont wear cosmetic rings for a fairly specific reason. other than the face, hands are what interract with other people the most -- shaking hands, hugging people, gesturing when talking, using them to work, write, drive, pet, caress. beyond the face they are the most "visible" part of a person, and give incredibly true insights into that person. i think that's why a lot of cultures and groups wear rings as a sign of commitment and belonging (marriage, class rings, clubs, etc) -- it's a tangible, visible representation of who you *really are*.

so back to my knee jerk reaction. i am a motorcyclist, but for me it's just a really fun hobby. i love riding, but im sure i could survive without it. a harley davidson ring on my hand wouldnt be *who i am*. for other people motorcycles are a way of life, or even a livelihood, and a harley ring on that person's hand would be right at home. im cool with that.

Wow... lots of folks getting defensive. If you don't like hearing the opinions of other people, get of the internet. Hell, this is a discussion forum where that's all there is, opinions.

I'll stand by my opinion of people looking foolish when their completely covered in HD clothing and accessories. Do I have a couple of Harley T's and hat's? Sure, my Dark Custom #1 hat is my favorite and I wear it a couple of times a week, but you will not see me decked out in a logo. I think a LOT of people make their motorcycle their identity, and in my opinion, it's strange and it makes me chuckle. It's the same thing as seeing an adult male wearing nik(e) air jorda(n) stuff from head to toe.... shoes, socks, shorts, jersey and head band. It looks ridiculous. Like I said before... I'm entitled to my opinion and my own thoughts, just as much as anyone else.

BTW.... Wearing a custom club ring is completely different than wearing a brand logo from head to toe.

wow you truely are off ur rocker.

Im saying i dont give a crap what the guy does its his freedom of choice, and you compare that to calling anybody who wears HD merchandise a poser.

Back on subject.

Some of the rings put out by HD are pretty cool. If you want one go for it, its your money.

come on man, you cant blather me with BS, and expect me to go away. i guess you thought cause you posted more than 2 sentences, i would just get bored and leave. but believe it or not, i did read your post. and i see you still have no answer.

but if you can think of one, i actually am interested in hearing it. im always interested to know why people do the things they do. and so far, my opinion is based on what i can observe and what people tell me. maybe you can tell me something new??

as for my inner peace. if you think im actually tore up inside over this topic. think again. the only reason i even replied to this thread, is cause im bored at work. if i wasnt getting paid to be here, i wouldnt ever visit this forum at all. i could really give a *** less what people wear. but i knew that if i shared my opinion here, it would get me a good debate to kill some time.

it seemed the whole purpose of your original reply to me, was to rant about people pushing their opinions on people.

so i simply shared that i wasnt pushing my opinion. only sharing it. and that makes me off my rocker, how?? it is winter time now, so my rocker is parked. therefore i suppose i AM off my rocker. but im pretty sure thats not what you meant.
