Default Seat off, Tank off, Bars off...OH MY!!!??

Got my 12" Bars in Friday....couldn't stand it any more. Grabbed my manual and started taking things off this afternoon. Fuel Tank...pain in the butt, but I got it off. Made very little mess too. Grips off and the bars off. Think I lost the ferrels for the throttle cable, not sure if it had them on there, oh well. Put the new bars on for a second just to see how they feel, and to size up how to do the cables and brake lines.

Anybody know if I can use the existing throttle and clutch cables. The ones now are routed through the forks, out the front by the headlight and back to the bars. If I route the existing ones between the gas tank and forks it looks like it will be close. I'll try tomorrow but was wondering if anyone had done it that way.

If I get the mess back together it will be a major achievement.

Thanks

What'd ya have to take the tank off for? Just curious cause if you haven't taken the cables off I don't see you needing to take the tank off. Course, I don't know much.

This is my first shot at something like this, I figured I'd have to change the throttle cables so I'd planned on taking the tank off, plus I've got a 3" tank lift that's gonna go on at the end of this circus. Gotta put a new fuel crossover line for that so I needed that tank empty.

The main reason is I wanted the tank out of the way, didn't want to ding it up while I was messing with the bars and levers. Sometimes those things can have a mind of their own.

Makes sense to me. Good luck.
