How often do you change your bulbs?

I had my low beam go out last week before daylight while riding in the Smokies. It got me to wondering what is a "Best Practice" for bulb replacement. I had a little over 15000 miles on the head light bulb. I have since changed all bulbs on the bike. Do you change your bulbs when they blow or are you Pro Active and on a schedule?

Never really think about them, until they stop working. So I am definitely in the "When they blow" camp.

Try riding with your high beams on during the day. That way, when your high beam burns out you will still have your low beam. That will extend your bulb life.

I change 'em when they blow...but I pack a couple of spares on long trips so I don't have to look for bulbs along the route if one blows out. Got pulled over one night around midnite on the way home from Austin a few years back..by a local small town LEO, a nice guy who stopped me cause he noticed my tail light was out. He told me there was a truck stop about 5 miles up the road and I got a replacement there. Since then I carry spares on trips.
