Well, I did it...
After many wonderful memories on my 2004 Deuce, I went and put a deposit on a 2006 Street Glide yesterday afternoon. I got a great deal on it and pick it up on Saturday morning after the indy dealership (only sells used trade-ins for his custom stuff, and he has a TON of them) adds a little here and takes a lot more off there. I am so excited, I don't think I will be able to sleep until Saturday! The test ride yesterday afternoon produced the same results as a handful of Viagra.
The driving force behind this decision was comfort all the way. I am a 29 year old with 60 year old knees. Couldn't go much farther than 150 miles without a three hour break and no more than 300 miles a day, and even then I needed a full day of iced knees to get back on. I have often said that I don't prefer the bagger look, but after today's ride, I can easily let that go for the awesome feel of that bike. It felt like it was made for me. I never had that feeling on my Deuce, I just loved the Deuce because I felt it was the coolest bike ever.
So I say goodbye to my Deuce, but I will see her often. I sold her to my dad. Oh, and I will also leave my sign on name unchanged... it was a really great bike after all.
Here is a pic of the new Glide... before I get it back from the shop, but it will look much the same except for some replaced covers here and there. I will take more pics when I get her and post them in my albums soon.

Very nice ride you've got there man. It looks good. Street glides are definitely the best looking touring bikes IMO. Gratz' on the new purchase. Hope everything works out well for ya!

That's awesome that you get to still see it and probably ride it. I love my new, but miss the heck out of my previous bike.

Yeah, it doesn't get much worse than bad knee pain that won't let you walk without serious a limp all because you weren't doing anything with them! Too many hockey, skateboarding and soccer accidents in my life. I'm really not a big fan of the bagger look either, but I always felt the Street Glide looked pretty damn good for one. I'm sure after Saturday rolls around...... I'll think it's f-ing sexy!
