Just thought I would post that there will be a poker run in hampton roads virginia sponsered by the chesapeake shrine club in october of this year. If anyone is from the area and would like to attend please resond or shoot me an e'mail.. If you don't know anythng about the shriners they own several hospitals throughout the US that specifically treat burnt and crippled children whose families cannot afford treatment. It's gonna be a great time let me know if you would like some info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Virginia Beach, VA...are the shriners connected to the freemasons...I am currently trying to find a good lodge to apply to. Thanks, nice bike.
Shriners are the party wing if Freemasonry. To become a shriner, you must first be raised to a Master Mason. (Of course, Shriners require seperate annual dues)

In case any of you brothers are interested, the Scottish Rite group in Washington State made it possible to buy these specialty plates for cars, motorcycles, trucks, trailers, or RVs. You pay a premium for them as they are "personalized" plates, but the proceeds go to help kids with speech and hearing related problems - the philanthropy our Scottish Rite masons support. As a Mason I get quite a few inquiries about it on my bike because I am approachable on the bike in ways that aren't as easy in a car. Might be a good thing to see if you can start in your state as well. Lots of young men ride bikes and are interested in personal development as well.
