Some people, because of physical limitations, would benefit from an automatic. If you don't like it or need it, don't buy it.

actually, I had a 450 Hawk Hondamatic in 82. Traded a guitar for it. Wanted my guitar back......lol.
Owned it for 3 months, and got rid of it.

I feel the same about automatic cars. Owned one once......for a week.

But, just like F1 and high-end sports cars have electronic clutches, I would be interested in seeing that technology become more widely available for motorcycles. The problem is that the clutch is used in motorcycles in ways that it isn't for cars. But if someone invented something........

The FJR1300AE is the only bike that I know of that has an auto-clutch, but I think they discontinued it for 2010.

Default Read the article on the Aprilia

The bike has the semi auto function too. you can change gear like you can with a paddle shift a car using the regular gear lever or a switch on the handle bar.. I think it would benefit some riders who would want this fitted to the bike.

Racing bikes have slipper clurches which almost do away with the clutch lever to change gear in moto GP the same as race cars. A fully auto change can be quicker than a manual change and if CVT the there is np nee to worry about that. The problem would be is how much power it sucks from the crank.

If a guy has a handicapped condition and an auto tranny is the only way he can stay on two wheels, go for it...

But for me, HELL no...

Ever since having my left leg broken into all kind of little pieces eight years ago, I would like to at least try one.
