I have Alum mags off of my 07 dyna super glide OEM . I am looking to get the rough casting to look like it is polished . What do I need to do this grinders sand paper ??? I am looking to do this on my own . I have a new set of rims and tires to go back on and I know this is going to take some time . NEED HELP
I use a quarter inch air die grinder on my aluminum. It really cuts down on the time involved. You will be suprised at the results. You can make it look almost as good as chrome! Basicly start with as rough a grit sand paper as needed depending on how bad the aluminium is to start with. Keep going to a finer grit as the surface improves. ( 1000 grit then emery cloth ) Then get out the polishing wheels. You can buy different grades of jewelers rough to finish the job. Hope this helps.
