2002 FXSTDI routinely gets over 50. Less if all in town. But I ride it easy. Last tank 189 miles on 3.7 gal. Of course I think it's a bit lighter than the bikes in question.

I ran 228 on a tank last year under ideal conditions, interstate, steady 80 MPH with a 15 MPH tailwind(50 MPG). 103" Road Glide with SE 204 cams, SE slip-ons, SE air cleaner. Usually get around 45+ average. It's got PCV autotune with light load cruise air/fuel ratio set to 14:1, timing advanced 4 degrees total over stock. My 95" 100 HP dyna with a 42MM mikuni gets around 50. It's all in how the midrange cruising air/fuel is set up. Before i put the Autotune modules on and was running with a canned map i ran 202 miles on 5.3 gallons(38 mpg)!!! No gas stations open and i was on fumes when i found one.

Stock, no windshield, 1999 FXDX,non-EFI:Riding solo, I find I can get 50 MPG on the average with a mixture of hilly interstate travelling if I keep it in the neighborhood of 65mph. On a trip this summer I purposely tried for best mileage by keeping rpm's down when shifting and never went over 67mph for a tankful and got 55 mpg. No kidding.
