Upgraded to Z1 3/4 after head injury from crashing with a novelty helmet. Learning to TRY to wear a Z1 FF in the winter... 3/4 with a fleece is usually the right gear.
The cages are out to kill you. Just had a left turn idiot take me out a few weeks ago. The 3/4 Shoei saved me. Last year some idiot rear ended me on the freeway at 80+. FF helmet saved me there too when landed on the back of my head at 70 mph. So to me a good helmet is a must.
Gone from novelty to 3/4.
Two buddies went down last month. One in a full-face t-boned a car at 30mph,bumps,bruises and scrapes.Helmet trashed,no head injuries .
The other (3/4),traffic stopped on a blind corner he laid it down.No major injuries and again helmet trashed, no head or face injuries.
Too close too home and getting old
Kinda misleading with 1/2 and 2/4. 1/2 when warm and 3/4 in the cold and on long trips.
