If this guy is claiming to be a US soldier, he could be charged with stolen valor by claiming he is with a unit but really isn't.

Once I find out where it is - I ask them when I can see it. THAT'S when you know its a scam.

Reply never has your name on it 'cause it's computer generated. Bike is always somewhere else and a ridiculous price for a ridiculous reason and free shipping! If you send a reply email saying your cousin lives in Billings, MT - what is the address so he can look at the bike you will get a reply that the bike was just shipped somewhere else for some stupid reason. I rarely see these scams anymore. Oh yeah if you do a Google search, if the vin is included or some other identifiable trait, the add usually comes up in several CL cities.

I remember one of these ads the bike was in Europe and included free shipping! Supposedly the Nigerian government has really cracked down on internet fraud. I saw a show such as 20/20 that showed people in Nigeria lined up to use coffee shop computers that are used to commit fraud. As soon as one person is arrested, 10 more are waiting to take his place. Internet fraud is Nigeria's largest gross national product!

My 18-year old son got all excited when he saw an ad on Craigslist for a 2005 Chevy Silverado 4x4 for $5,000. Seller was supposedly a woman whose husband walked out on her, left her with a mortgage she couldn't pay, and she had to sell the truck. Other details were the same -- send a check, free shipping, yada yada. I told my son it was a very common scam, and he said, "You never trust anyone!" Couple of days later, he said, "Yeah, I looked into it, and I think it's probably a scam." Feels pretty good when your kid has to admit that the old man was right.

Sadly I know someone who fell for something like this.....Never mind it wasn't sad. He's a MORON!!!! I think it was an inheritance scam.

They told him he need to go overseas and bring $15,000.00 Dumb *** went and did it. He checked his back statement and it showed $32,000,000.00. He goes to the bank to withdraw $1,000,000.00. They tell him that he can't and he's under investigation by the IRS and
FBI. The account is frozen. I never found out what happen. I just know that he skipped town and the cops are looking for him.
